"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28: 19-20 Our Youth Ministry is all about KNOWING JESUS and MAKING HIM KNOWN! We have a vital and active group of youth who love the Lord and are committed to growing stronger in Him and leading others to that same relationship with Him. Our youth are committed to being servant leaders who are making Christ known in our community. They are active in our children's ministry by helping with Vacation Bible School, leading the children's time during Sunday's worship service, and they sponsor events for them like Parent's Night Out. They are involved in local missions like the S.O.S. Food Pantry. They make visits to nursing homes, and the homebound, as well as some service projects. Weekly they strive to know Him more through Sunday night small groups, Wednesday night Praise and Worship, and our Tuesday morning Bible study. When I think about my youth group at CSUMC I think fun and fellowship. We have fun growing, learning, and discovering who we are, but most importantly we learn who God is. As a teen I am faced with many choices and challenges that I am so glad I don't have to face alone. I have a connection with a group of people who help me stay on course and hold me accountable. We have a wonderful Youth Minister in Jana Jobe and I am thankful to be a part of a church with such a strong youth group. As I start my last semester of my Senior year I am so thankful for the spiritual foundation this youth group has helped me build. I am also thankful that I too can help mold and shape someone else into the person God intends them to be. I encourage anyone who is looking for a youth group where they can grow and share their faith this is definitely the youth group to be a part of. Love in Christ Rob Pyron |
